Berlin, VT, October 19, 2020— Vermont Blue Advantage is proud to announce it was awarded a contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, allowing the affiliate of Blue Cross® and Blue Shield® of Vermont to provide Medicare Advantage plans to older Vermont for coverage beginning January 1st. Vermont Blue Advantage will offer Medicare Advantage plans built on Vermont relationships, with a health network in all 14 Vermont counties, as well as taking advantage of the nationwide Blue Cross Blue Shield health network to take care of Vermonters as they travel.

We are pleased to announce Pamela Getsie as President of Vermont Blue Advantage®. The company was formed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont to offer seniors Vermont-grown Medicare Advantage plans. She notes that “Medicare Advantage plans are growing in popularity in Vermont and nationally,” as an alternative to Original Medicare. Over 100,000 seniors in Vermont have Medicare-only coverage, yet Medicare doesn’t cover everything.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) offers the only Vermont-based Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan to receive the highest five-star rating for 2020 from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
