Snow Days

With winter in the air we’re excited to share an update on our popular Snow Days. As in the past, we encourage you to get outside and enjoy winter activities in Vermont.

For 2021, though, we’re “grooming” Snow Days a little differently! Rather than gathering at a specific site, we want you to share how you’re moving and exercising outdoors with us online!

From February 13 to February 28 you can share your photos to our Facebook page or Instagram (#snowdaysvt). We want to see photos of you, your family and friends getting outside and staying fit by snowshoeing, sledding, x-country skiing, winter biking, or however you spend your Snow Days in Vermont.

After February 28 we’ll randomly select one of you to receive either a cross-country ski or snowshoeing prize package! The more photos you submit the better your chances. If you don't have access to social media, you can send your photos to

Check back for more details and watch our social media platforms – and get ready to enjoy your Snow Days this winter!

Our annual Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Snow Days events have become a winter tradition for many hundreds of participants around Vermont. Snow Days encourage anyone, regardless of age or ability, to try x-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding/tubing to stay physically active.

We believe that getting out and staying active in the winter can boost both personal wellness and community connections. Past attendees have said that Snow Days events made them more aware of the benefits of being physically active during the winter. Plus, they would like to invite their friends and family members to take part as well!

One of our Snow Days guests shared, "I was able to bring my 4-year-old snowshoeing for the first time! I would not have been able to do this otherwise. We lost our snowshoes in a fire five years earlier and have not had the funds to replace them. THANK YOU for this event! It was very much appreciated!"
