Snow Day Events in Vermont

Snow Days

We are pleased to host our annual Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Snow Days events each winter. These free events give Vermonters the opportunity to try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, in an effort to encourage physical activity during the cold winter months. Rentals are free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Depending on the location, Snow Days activities may include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing/sledding. We also provide healthy snacks and a free fleece hat for the first 50 attendees.

We surveyed attendees at past Snow Days and more than 50 percent agreed that the events made them more aware of the benefits of being physically active. At the same time, 100 percent of surveyed attendees would recommend Nordic skiing or snowshoeing to others in their communities! We believe that getting out and getting active in the winter can boost both personal wellness and community connections.

One touching comment from a Snow Days guest said, "I was able to bring my 4 year old snowshoeing for the first time! I would not have been able to do this otherwise. We lost our snowshoes in a fire five years earlier and have not had the funds to replace them. THANK YOU for this event! It was very much appreciated!"

We're excited to add a new location for 2020! Please see the schedule of Snow Days below, and plan to join us this winter!
