Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Receives National Gold-Level Award from the Wellness Council of America

BERLIN, VT – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT) was recently recognized by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) for the company’s outstanding achievements in health promotion in the workplace.

BCBSVT participated in the application process which assessed the company’s development and implementation of wellness initiatives with a context of seven critical benchmarks shown to produce results in similar settings.

The award presenter, Wellness Council of America (WELCOA), is a national nonprofit organization with a vision to improve the health and well-being of all working Americans. They believe that a healthy workforce is essential to America’s continued growth and prosperity and that much of the illness in the US is directly preventable.  They state that the workplace is an ideal setting to address health and well-being and that workplace wellness programs can transform corporate culture and change lives.
