Nancy Eldridge Named to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Board of Directors

Berlin – Nancy Eldridge, of Burlington, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.

Ms. Eldridge, who was elected at the Board’s annual meeting in April, is Executive Director of Cathedral Square Corporation, a non-profit organization that owns and/or manages 24 housing communities for seniors and individuals with special needs, located in four Vermont counties. Each community is uniquely designed to serve distinct populations. Prior to joining CSC in 1999, she served as Associate Director of Primary Care at the University of Vermont College of Medicine; Director of Governmental Relations for the Vermont State Medical Society; and as Director of Housing for the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont is the state’s only Vermont-based health insurer and is the largest private health plan in Vermont.  The non-profit company employs more than 340 people and provides health care benefits for more than 150,000 Vermonters.  The company offers benefits and services to virtually all Vermont populations through its array of indemnity and managed care products and through its partner companies, The Vermont Health Plan (TVHP) and Comprehensive Benefits Administrators.
