In 2009, the Northeast Kingdom Community Advisory Board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont held our first Hike, Bike and Paddle event in Craftsbury and it was a huge success! The Hike, Bike and Paddle events create an oportunity to be physically active while enjoying the great outdoors. Last year, we expanded to include three total locations in order to involve more Vermonters. You can now view photos from our Burlington, Camp Plymouth and Craftsbury events.

Hike, Bike & Paddle North Beach, Burlington 2012

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont is inviting the public to our Hike, Bike & Paddle event on Saturday, August 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at North Beach Park, Burlington. Hike, Bike and Paddle is one of many initiatives by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont to encourage physical activity in the great Vermont outdoors.

This free community event offers an opportunity for individuals to get outside and enjoy hiking, biking, canoeing and kayaking.  Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont will provide free healthy snacks, including smoothies from their blender bike. The first 100 participants will also receive a free Hike, Bike & Paddle t-shirt.  Free bike and canoe rentals will be available, however; rentals are limited.  Participants are welcome to bring their own boats and bikes.
