Rite Aid Pharmacies Are Converting to Walgreens
30 Rite Aid stores located across the state are converting to Walgreens. The change began with the conversion of store pharmacies; eventually, all 30 locations will be converted to full Walgreens stores. Blue Cross members who used any of the converted Rite Aid pharmacies for prescriptions will be automatically transferred into the Walgreens pharmacy network. According to Walgreens, location staff will not be changing as part of the store conversion.
Six Rite Aid stores will continue to operate in Vermont and will remain participating in-network pharmacies for Blue Cross members. Any members who wish to transfer prescriptions from these six Rite Aid pharmacies into the Walgreens pharmacy network may do so by visiting a Walgreens pharmacy location in person, using the Walgreens app, or calling a Walgreens by phone.
