Blue Cross Blue Shield Vermont
Vermont Blue 65 for Vermonters Covered by Medicare

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont's Vermont Blue 65 programs, (also known as Medicare Supplements or Medi-Gap policies), are designed to complement the coverage provided by Medicare Parts A and B. By law, in order to be eligible for Vermont Blue 65 coverage you must be enrolled under both Parts A and B of Medicare. You must also be a resident of Vermont. Your coverage will begin on the first day of the month following receipt of your application.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont offers two of the federally approved supplemental programs.

 • Plan A provides basic coverage of Medicare-approved services, including the Part A hospitalization copay and coverage for 365 additional days after Medicare benefits run out. Plan A also covers the 20% Part B copay for Medicare-approved medical expenses.

 • Plan C provides the same benefits as Plan A and covers the Part A deductible, expands coverage for Skilled Nursing Facility Care, pays the $100 Part B deductible and provides limited coverage while you are traveling outside of the USA.
