BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF VERMONT ANNOUNCES DISTINGUISHED EMPLOYEE FOR OCTOBER 2004

Berlin, VT – Melanie Slocum, a resident of Northfield, VT has been chosen as Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont’s Distinguished Employee for October 2004.

Ms. Slocum was a billing analyst in account services when she received this award. She has since been promoted to group implementation specialist and has been with Blue Cross and Blue Shield since October 2000. She is cited for her dedication to her co-workers and BCBSVT’s external customers and for her willingness to go above and beyond her duties. A co-worker stated, “Melanie is a dedicated, hard working employee, who will make every effort to accommodate an urgent request”.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont employs about 350 Vermonters at its headquarters in Berlin and its branch office in Williston. A committee of employees recognizes an employee each month in honor of Carol L. Goodrich, the winner of the first-ever Employee of the Year award in 1992.
