Grant Application Guidelines
The Vermont Caring Foundation invites and encourages applications for grants from Vermont organizations engaged in work to promote and improve the health of Vermonters, particularly children and teenagers. Application for funding must be on our application form, and should be directed to:

Applications can be submitted at any time, and will be reviewed bi-annually in April and October by the Foundation's Board of Directors, which will ultimately decide all grant requests. Each bi-annual Board review will include applications received up to one month in advance.
Criteria for review are as follows:
| | | | | | | • | Applicants must be Vermont-based organizations or Vermont affiliates or chapters of national and regional organizations. Preference will be given to Vermont community-based organizations providing services for children and teenagers. Grants will not be distributed to individuals.
| | | • | Applicants' primary work must be in the areas of health education, promotion, prevention, research, delivery and/or support. Applications should specify how their programs satisfy this criterion.
| | | • | Applicants should identify and specify the Vermont populations that would benefit from a grant award.
| | | • | Grants must be used primarily to finance health improvement programs rather than administrative expenses associated with those programs.
| | | • | Applicants should specify an amount requested and provide detail on how the grant would be used.
| | | • | Applications should be submitted on the one-page form provided by the Foundation. The Foundation will specify any additional information it requires.
| | | • | Please provide an annual report of the program and/or documentation of a fiscal agent or sponsor.
| | | • | Grant applications of more than $5,000 will not be considered.

In order to promote the work of the Vermont Caring Foundation, organizations approved for grant funding from the Foundation must agree to publicize such awards through issuance of news releases and other public notices as may be appropriate. In addition, the Vermont Caring Foundation itself will issue publicity statements when it makes grant awards. All public releases must be approved in advance by the Foundation.
Organizations approved for grant funding must also agree to submit, in writing, a follow-up report confirming that the foundation's grant money was used in a manner consistent with the request included on the original applications.
The Vermont Caring Foundation reserves the right to deny grant applications.
