FAQs

Q: I have a prescription drug card. How can I find a network pharmacy?
A: The vast majority of pharmacies in Vermont are members of the RESTAT network—the network that provides prescription drug coverage to our members. In fact, at the time of this writing, only one pharmacy declined to participate. If you anticipate that you will need to find an out-of-state pharmacy, you may call 1-800-248-1062 to find a network pharmacy. Or visit www.restat.com and choose a pharmacy there.

Q: What are the advantages of using generic versus brand-name medications and what is the difference between the two?
A: Generics are “therapeutically equivalent” to their brand-name counterparts. That means that a specific dosage of a generic should produce the same effect as the same dosage of the brand-name version of the drug. The advantage in using generics is cost. Since generics cost less than brand-name drugs, many of our health programs provide incentives for members who buy generics. You may have a lower co-payment for generic drugs than for brand-name drugs.
