Note: Some prescription drugs require prior approval in order to be eligible for benefits. Please refer to the prescription drug prior approval list.



Three-Tier Prescription Drug Program

1. Understand the three-tier prescription drug program.
 
Tier 1 - Generic Drugs offer the LOWEST co-pay
Tier 2 - Brands on the Preferred Brand Name Drug List
take the MIDDLE co-pay.
Tier 3 - Brand name drugs that are NOT on the Preferred Brand Name Drug List  or brand name drugs WITH a generic alternative take the HIGHEST co-pay.
 
2. Talk to your doctor about which preferred drugs are right for you.
 
3. You must use a RESTAT network pharmacy to access your benefits and be eligible for any discounts that have been negotiated between RESTAT and BCBSVT.

  • The Member REPortal provides a prescription drug cost comparison tool for brand name and generic drugs.  Shop local pharmacies once you have an estimated cost of the prescription.
