  • What is the health insurance exchange?

    It's an online marketplace where individuals and small businesses purchase standardized insurance products, referred to as Qualified Health Plans. Vermont's online marketplace, or exchange, is called Vermont Health Connect.

  • Who buys health insurance through Vermont Health Connect?

    In 2014, all individuals must purchase their health insurance through Vermont Health Connect.

  • When am I required to sign up?

    Open enrollment for Vermont Health Connect was from October 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. It you missed the open enrollment, you may still have an opportunity to enroll. Contact VHC at (855) 899-9600.

  • Can I keep my BCBSVT plan?

    While you will be required to purchase coverage through Vermont Health Connect, BCBSVT offers ten different Qualified Health Plans with a variety of deductible, co-payment and out-of-pocket cost options.

  • What if I can't afford coverage?

    Many Vermonters will receive assistance in paying for coverage through tax credits and/or public assistance, depending on income.
