COBRA*  is a complicated set of federal requirements aimed at keeping health insurance available to populations that might otherwise face loss of coverage.

The State of Vermont also has laws that guarantee continued eligibility for group benefits to certain populations under certain conditions.

These rules can be hard to interpret, but your business is responsible for understanding how these laws apply to your employees and for complying with all applicable requirements.

Note: H.R.1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which President Obama signed into law on February 17, 2009 affects both state and federal continuation coverage and requires action on the part of employers and health plans.  Learn more . . .
