Provider Relations Consultant
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont is looking for a Provider Relations Consultant to serve as the primary liaison between the plan and the provider community. The consultant will support BCBSVT's policies and contractual obligations while maintaining a credible and respectful relationship. The consultant maintains a positive working relationship interacting effectively with physicians, billing staff, and management. The consultant provides feedback from providers to departments throughout BCBSVT, and works with internal Plan departments to resolve problems and answer questions on behalf of the provider community.
The Provider Relations Consultant works primarily through personal contact with the provider community, and travels up to 50% of the time in an assigned geographic territory.
Qualified applicants will have:
- at least 3 to 5 years of experience in health insurance including managed care or related field with strong customer service focus required,
- knowledge or experience in medical coding desired
- BA/BS degree required
